The 62 has been Yamaha's go-to professional alto since 1979, and the III is the third major redesign. It's known for accurate intonation, even response from top to bottom, and keywork that stays in adjustment. This one has a silver-plated finish and is in mint condition.
What sets the 62III apart
62-style neck: A slightly narrower bore gives faster response and more control, with a solid tonal core.
Professional-style neck receiver: Gives a tighter fit between the neck and body for a richer tone.
Hand-joined two-piece bell: Craftsmen join two brass sheets by hand before shaping the bell. The bell is hand-engraved.
Integrated key posts: Add a moderate amount of resistance, so the horn responds right as you blow.
Improved low B–C# connection: Makes sure the low C# key closes consistently, and it's easier to regulate.
Teardrop front F key: Adjustable to your preference.
Redesigned left-hand seesaw key: Designed for a more comfortable, natural feel.
Separate key guards with adjustable screw-cap stoppers: These allow professional-style regulation.
Adjustable thumb hook
Auxiliary keys: High F# and front F
Finish: Silver-plated body and keys
